The work place has become worser than dodge city in the old cowboy days. School and workplace shootings are becoming common headlines in the newspapers. People are coming to work stressed out because of the increase of family problems such as marital affairs and rebellious children of all ages. Let me tell you my story of how they Spit In My Face!
All i wanted to do was come to work,do a good job,get paid and go home. This was not a simple matter for some of my co workers including my boss. You see i consider myself a family man trying to do the right thing. The first night on my job i was offered to buy drugs and alcohol by a few of my co workers. I refused and kept my distance.
When i finally got a chance to talk with the shift manager during a break. He sarcastically looked at me and said "So what! Are you a good citizen or something?" That's when it hit me! I knew then i was in a bad plight! This Job had clicks that was reaching into management!
After the break it seems everyone was giving me dirty looks and of course for some strange reason my work was now not good enough. When i would bend to pick something up they started the fag jokes directed toward me. And let me tell ya i am not a fag! Yeah i was getting pissed off alright! But i knew this is what they wanted. They wanted me to walk out but i did'nt.
I should never have told them that i was going to report them to head management the next morning. What i should have done was play the role of the fool and make them think
everything was cool until i could finish my job and get out of there. But no my pride was getting the best of me.
One guy said that if i was going to be a bitch he was going to kick my ass. I fired back and said "People don't fight anymore they shoot each other and you don't know me!"
I said it out of anger, but the next morning they all go tell head management before i could even get a word out! saying i was threatining to shoot people on the job!
Because of so many witnesses they started an investigation without even taking seriously what i told them what led up to all of this. They did a background check on me! and found that i had committed a violent crime with a weapon 19 years ago! Yes it's true i was 19 years old at the time and running with bad association. The job did'nt require a background check when i got hired and the application only ask if i had been in trouble with the law in the past 7 years not 20! So i felt i was being honest.
In just 3 days they fired me from a really good paying job. I was on fire and felt that they had Spit In My face! I even had serious thoughts of going on the premises with a 9 mil and getting some justice of my own! What got me to calm down was now i am married and have 6 children and i am known in the community as an easy going family guy.
My mother always told me "what goes around comes around" What i did 20 years ago, I feel that i was getting paid back for it some how. These days when people get a thought like that of taking matters into their own hands they do it with haste not even giving themselves time to change their minds.
After telling my experience with a few friends of mine, I found out that the job had a reputation of being called "the snake pit". The corruption was running all they way up into corporate. The ceo was banging the managers daughter and was using the employees as foot soldiers for selling bud (weed) on the job.
I guess i could have been the one to get killed that night with that kind of ring going on in the workplace.
Today i work out of my home. My daughter Jade kept talking about how she would love to travel and see the world. This prompted me to create a website called Travel with Jade. Ever since i created that website, I have made more money at it than doing janitorial work. It did'nt happend overnight but now i have a loyal clientele from family,friends,newspaper advertising and traffic from the search engines.
I watched the news from my home and i still see the tragic incidents of people getting shot at school and on the job. When i ask myself why is this happening so much? The answer that comes to mind is people need to stop spitting in peoples faces.They spit in my face but if i can help it,they won't get the chance to do it again!
